Crossovers are bestsellers in every price segment. Here’s a list of the best.
Acura RDX
The RDX features premium proportions and sporty handling characteristics. It’s powered by a 2.0L turbo-four engine mated to a 10-speed auto transmission that generates 272hp and 280lb-ft of torque. The option with Acura’s Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive system is even more fun than the standard version.
Ford Bronco Sport
Ford took a thoughtful approach and purpose-built an off-roader that harks back to the legendary Bronco. Five trims are available, with the Badlands being the most rugged option. It has 8.8 inches of ground clearance, 23.6-inch water-fording capabilities, an upgraded suspension, a hydraulic bump-stop on the dampers, a twin-clutch rear-wheel drive unit with differential locks and drive modes that let it handle any terrain.
Jeep Wrangler
This nearly mid-size SUV has a name known for off-road capability. The latest version is equally at home off and on the road. It has a 2.0L engine with a mild-hybrid assist that improves fuel economy. There’s also a 3.0L V6 diesel available. A plug-in version is on its way too. Despite the modernization, it loses none of the capabilities that made it a legend.
Lincoln Corsair
The smallest Lincoln crossover has premium styling, upscale features, and a lot of standard safety tech. The materials are opulent, the design is clean, and the interiors are very inviting. Two trims and two engine options, a 250hp 2.0L engine, and a 295hp 2.3L motor are available.
Mazda CX-30
Imagine the excellent Mazda3 with 2.4-inches of extra ground clearance and all-wheel drive. That’s the CX-30. It features a sleek design, smart interiors, and a wider body. Its handling is engaging, and its standard 2.5L engine is fun. There’s a new 2.5L turbo-four engine on the way that will generate 250hp.
Porsche Macan
If you really love driving and can afford it, no other crossover or SUV can match the experience of the Porsche Macan. The base version has a 248hp 2.0L turbo-four engine, and the S gets a 348hp 3.0L turbocharged V6. Then there’s the GTS with a 375hp twin-turbo 2.9L V6 and the Turbo with a 434hp 2.9L twin-turbo V6.
